Panel – What does Europe do for Early Music?

Already in the early Middle Ages, musicians would travel extensively through whole parts of Europe. This resulted in common inspirations, in a shared culture. Still today, Europe is the playing field for a staggering number of musicians and musical works. What do Europe and ‘Europe’ do for Early Music? This session aims at exploring on the one hand what concrete laws and programmes are fostering European exchange and travels, and on the other hand what opportunities Europe can bring to the Early Music sector.

The REMA Early Music Awards are an annual price for outstanding artists and projects that contributed significantly to the early music movement.
